Operating the motor under conditions that precisely match water injection and oil delivery demands not only ensures efficient performance but also leads to an impressive 48.8% reduction in electricity consumption.
2. Reduced Operating Costs
The operating costs of traditional motors consist of three components: initial purchase cost, maintenance costs, and energy costs. Among these, energy costs account for approximately 77% of the total motor operating expenses. By reducing energy costs by 44.3%, combined with the decreased impact on equipment due to variable-frequency starting—which also leads to lower maintenance and repair needs—the overall operating costs will be significantly reduced.
3. Enhance Pressure Control Accuracy
The variable-frequency control system features precise pressure control, enabling the motor's pressure output to precisely match the system's required water injection volume. The output of the variable-frequency controlled motor adjusts automatically as the motor speed changes. Thanks to the enhanced accuracy in controlling motor speed, this system can maintain fluctuations in network pressure within a narrow range of 3 psig—equivalent to approximately 0.2 bar—thereby effectively improving the overall operational quality.
4. Extend the motor's service life
The variable frequency drive starts the motor from 0 Hz, and its acceleration time can be adjusted to minimize the mechanical and electrical stresses on the motor’s components during startup, thereby enhancing system reliability and extending the motor’s service life. Additionally, variable-frequency control helps reduce current fluctuations when the unit starts up—fluctuations that could otherwise affect the power grid and disrupt the operation of other equipment. By effectively limiting the peak starting current to the lowest possible level, the VFD ensures smoother and more stable operation.
5. Reduced motor noise
According to the motor's operational requirements, after installing variable-frequency speed control, the motor's operating speed noticeably slowed down, thereby effectively reducing the noise generated during operation.
