1. The switchgear (box) serves as the central hub for powering the ship’s electrical systems and ensuring the smooth operation of its equipment; therefore, no unauthorized personnel are allowed to operate the switches on the panel.
2. After the generator set is started, use the speed-up switch on the power panel to manually and gradually increase the speed until the generator reaches its normal operating condition, with voltage and frequency stabilizing at the specified values—only then should the circuit breaker be closed to supply power.
3. After the distribution panel enters the distribution state, do not randomly move the power panel speed-up switch. Under no circumstances should the air circuit breaker's interlock switch be used except in emergencies.
4. When operating generators in parallel, strictly follow the specified synchronization conditions and procedures. Be mindful of potential issues such as reverse power (reverse current) and unsuccessful synchronization attempts.
5. When shutting down, first disconnect the generator's load, then stop the machine under no-load conditions. Do not shut down directly while still carrying a load.
6. When switching between shore power and onboard power, first disconnect all main switches on the shore power panel, then verify the correctness of the wiring and phase sequence. Only after confirming everything is correct should you proceed with the ship-shore power transfer. Operating under load is strictly prohibited.
7. The distribution cabinet (box) should be regularly cleaned and maintained to ensure that the equipment always operates in optimal condition.
8. When the generator is operating and machinists are performing switchboard operations, they should stay focused and proceed with caution to prevent accidental incidents.
9. The charge-discharge panel serves as the ship’s emergency power distribution panel. On-duty engine personnel should regularly inspect its operational status, ensuring at all times that low-voltage power remains sufficient, and monitor the performance of the magnetic saturation voltage regulator via the instruments mounted on the panel.
10. During normal navigation, all circuit breakers on the distribution panel should remain closed to ensure the generator can be started at any time and is readily available for emergency use.
